Summer has arrived in Abruzzo!

Whilst the UK reaches for their umbrellas we are basking in the Italian summer sun. Out in our vineyards, the grapes have started to ripen, brightening and softening. We’re now in the critical stage of the grape ripening process which will decide the fate of our wines.

Our vineyards are buzzing with activity; we have trimmed the vines to keep the air circulating and let the sun in (but not too much, we don’t want our grapes to get sunburnt). We’re also snipping off the smallest grape clusters, reducing the yield per vine, and ultimately increasing the quality of both the fruit and the wine (because, as in life, sometimes less is more my friend).

At our estates in Pietranico and Torano Nuovo in Abruzzo, the visitor season is upon us. It’s time for us to roll out the red carpet for visitors from across the globe. Our guests are diving into Abruzzo’s exceptional wines and delicious food while soaking up the amazing atmosphere. Come for the wine, stay for the food, and leave with a happy heart (and possibly a slight buzz).

This is the perfect time of year to enjoy light, crisp, and refreshing wines. Rosè is an excellent choice (try our organic Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo in glass bottle and boxed wine), but for us sparkling wines have our heart, serving as a delightful aperitif and a wonderful accompaniment to fish dishes, soft cheese, and salads. Enjoy our sparkling Pecorino and Passerina.
