At some point in history Primitivo had landed in Italy from the other side of the Adriatic Sea (Croatia) and was then brought to California by Italian immigrants where it took the name of Zinfandel.
This full-blooded inky red has aromas of dark berry fruit, black cherry, blackberries, and dark plums on the nose. There is a seductive softness in the mouth and ripe juicy dark fruit on the palate. A deliciously warming wine with a lingering fruity finish.
It is perfect for summer barbecues, roast lamb, warming winter stews, Italian ragu pasta and tomato-based dishes, provolone, scamorza and vegetables with big flavour.
The wine will stay fresh for up to six weeks once opened.

I have in my house in London 4 Torri wine boxes at present: Red (Primitivo and Montepulciano), Rosé, and White. These are now my house wines, and I particularly like them as a long time ago as a student I lived for a year in Italy , and I had an Italian uncle who taught me about wine. They are slightly more expensive than most other boxed wines, but this is well worth it, given that they are organic. And perhaps being organic is the secret to their excellent, robust and clean tastes. This is as good as house wine gets!

Excellent organic red wine. Intensive fruity wine. Highly recommended.
